Before the Hair Transplant
The goal is a safe procedure and good blood circulation in the scalp on the day of surgery.
- Inform your consultant and doctor about all illnesses, procedures, and medications (especially in the case of chronic conditions).
- Blood-thinning medications (e.g., Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Warfarin, Heparin, Plavix, etc.) must be stopped 7 days before the procedure and for 2 days after – strictly in consultation with your attending physician.
- Refrain from smoking, alcohol, green tea, and Turkish coffee 7 days before the transplant.
- On the day of the procedure, wear comfortable, button-up clothing (with a zipper or buttons – nothing that needs to be pulled over the head).
- Due to the sedation, you must not eat or drink for 6–8 hours before the scheduled surgery time.
